Here is how this works in practice. We source production cars — camera and grip trucks, lighting trucks, power packs cars, honey wagons, make-up and wardrobe trailers and crew transport — from Dutch rental vendors in the Amsterdam and Rotterdam production clusters, scaled to the size of the unit. Our team sets up qualified drivers, scheduling and movement orders so cars arrive on time and park where the shoot needs them.

Here is the breakdown. For pro trucks or trailers not held in-country, cars move freely by road from neighbouring Germany and Belgium, since the Netherlands is a founding EU member in the single market and Schengen, with no carnet needed for intra-EU transport. Because hire from Dutch vendors counts as qualifying Dutch spend, sourcing transport locally supports a global shoots's claim under the 35% The country Film Production Rebates administered by the Netherlands Film Fund.

Here is the short of it. Moving a fleet of production cars around the Netherlands is shaped by the country's geography. Amsterdam's canal ring is built around narrow streets, masonry bridges with weight limits, and tight one-way systems, so we plan unit parking and access with care and stage smaller cars where large trucks cannot reach. The country has a dense, efficient road network connecting Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague. This makes moving between locations straightforward. But city-centre and covered-area access often needs permits set up in advance.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. The temperate maritime climate is persistently wet and windy, so we plan for weather across travel days, and on exposed coastal and polder locations we position cars on stable, drained ground.
